With the acting experience she had already gained despite her young age, she brought her own charm to the role of Brigitta von Trapp. Since the character's age in the movie was adjusted to match Angela's actual age, it was easy for her to portray the fifth child of the Trapp family authentically for the audience.
In order to perform the songs perfectly, extensive vocal rehearsals and coaching took place before and during filming. After these preparations, Angela and all the other child actors were able to sing their own vocal parts in the movie. However, to achieve a fuller and more harmonious sound, their voices were reinforced with additional voices in songs such as “Do-Re-Mi” and “So Long, Farewell.”
